Socilogy has gone throuhg some methodological and theroetical processes in the world and later in Turkey since the years it began to be instituonalized; It is a discipline that is important in terms of explaining, understandingn and interpreting the institutions that form the social the structure in our age and in the future, the rapidly increasing social change in all units of the structure and the problems they cause. The position statüs and value or importance of sociology as a professional field directly affects individuals in this field and their sociasl environments in practice. The subject and scope of the study include the factors affecting the attitudes and opinions of universty youth regarding socilogy education and their expectations for their future.Perception dimensions of young people studying in the sociology department towards the deparment; determining to what extent and how factors such as attitudes, expectations, perception of the future sociology in Turkey and anxiety affect the class in which they study, gender and family income level are important in terms of the academicsuccess of young people and the structureing of the sociology education. In addition political, econonic and culturel etc. İn todays Word, concidering the formation and changes the position and status of social sciences are becoming increasingly important. Identfying the problems of students stduying in this fields; it is valuable in terms of making educational and training plans incraesing the future job opportunities, and working fort he benefit of society by being employed, especially in the the fields in which they are educated. Sociology with is status as social science should have a postion of this importance. It would be meaningful for young people with “sociologist” status,who graduate from the departments of universities in Turkey, to be raised in the awareness of the importance of this profession and to be given positions related to their fields by authorized institutions with adequate policies. Based on these points, the aim of this study is; to identify the problems of the sociology department and

education as a social science discipline in Turkey, to reveal the perception dimension of young people studying

in the sociology deparment, including their attitudes towards the department, expectations, future perception and

concerns of sociology in Turkey, in terms of some variables. To this aim; the perceptions of young people studying at Uşak Universty Department of Sociology regarding the sociology education were evaluated quantitavely. Purposive sample selection technique was used in the study.Information on the subject was obtained by conducting a survey with young people studying in the Department of Sociology at Uşak Universty.
