Abstract

Direct speed predictive control (DSPC) provides fast dynamic control with a better disturbance rejection capability but suffers from weighting factor selection. This paper proposes a sequential DSPC without weighting factors for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control. For this purpose, the sequential weighting factor elimination method is applied to the DSPC method, thereby taking advantage of both the DSPC method and the sequential weighting factor elimination. The proposed system is confirmed through simulation studies under various operating conditions of an electrical drive system. Finally, an enhanced DSPC method with improved control performance and lower design complexity is achieved.
