Abstract

Boundary equation approach is revisited and extended to be applicable for axisymmetric transient heat transfer applications with spatially varying field variables and heat sources. For the derivation of axisymmetric formulation, three-dimensional fundamental solutions are integrated with respect to the circumferential direction and then the radial integration procedure using the stabilized temperature values is implemented to convert axisymmetric plane integrals to axisymmetric line integrals. All integrals are evaluated numerically. Four Numerical examples are given in order to assess the reliability of the proposed formulation.
