The aim of the research is to reveal the basic elements of power relations, in other words domination and resistance strategies in higher education institutions and to investigate how they are created and the exposure forms of academicians and academic field and at the same time to examine in the context of Field Theory, what kind of academic field is built as the result of these relations. This research was structured based on phenomenological approach. The working group of this research consists of 16 academicians from 12 universities. According to the analysis of the research data, it has been reached those three themes such as basic elements of power relations, causes of power relations, and the impact of power relations on academic field and 14 categories of these themes. The power relations emerged in the academic field is actualized in two axes such as created by academicians and outside of academicians. It could be stated that power positions appears as a result of interactions between these two axes, academic field directs the academicians and the academicians too legitimate academic field within this structure.
