Özet

In this study, the misogynistic discourses created by “victims of alimony” on twitter (now X), a significant subculture within the manosphere in Turkey, are analyzed. This study is significant as it is one of the pioneering works examining manosphere communities in Turkey. The study examined 10,398 X posts shared by this subgroup under various hashtags using the netnographic method. The results revealed that individuals identifying themselves as victims of alimony produced expressions of organized hostility towards “laws” (n = 4582) and “women” (n = 5816) on X. Focusing on the claim that existing laws “protect women” and “victimize men,” these groups develop hostile attitudes towards women through the image of male victims and use the image of “cheating” women to justify their discourse.
