Abstract
Purpose: This chapter reflects on the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Intelligence (BI) in financial management across the BRICS economies and their comparative global positioning, distilled into a succinct analytical summary. It also reflects, meta-analytically, on the process of condensing an expansive, multi-thematic research journey into a tightly bound textual artifact. Design/methodology/approach: A polyphonic structure is adopted, metaphorically akin to a musical composition wherein thematic variations – technological deployment, infrastructural asymmetry, and geopolitical divergence – are developed, modulated, and ultimately resolved within a unified comparative framework. The methodological score transposes vast quantities of empirical and policy data into a coherent narrative arc, following the tonal progression from exploratory mapping to structured evaluation, culminating in conceptual synthesis. Each section resonates as a movement, culminating in this abstract – a coda to the discursive symphony. Findings: The research reveals that while BRICS economies exhibit ambitious and uneven integration of AI and BI into financial governance, they remain ontologically distinct from the algorithmic sovereignty attained by global leaders. The act of summarising this dynamic complexity inevitably reduces lived policy ecosystems, institutional nuance, and emergent digital ontologies into a finite lexicon. Research limitations/implications: By pausing to observe the act of abstraction itself, this work invites a reflexive interlude amidst the mechanistic cadence of academic production. Originality/value: This abstract embodies the paradox of synthesis: capturing multilateral trajectories of technological transformation within a finite textual space, hoping – inevitably – that the reader proceeds beyond these few signifiers.
