The tourism sector is considered as one of the essential elements of economic development and improvement in developing countries. Hospitality businesses retain an important place in terms of tourism development and sustainability. Therefore, it is important to measure the efficiency of these businesses which have an important place, both in regional and country tourism. The aim of this study is to measure the efficiency of hospitality businesses in Yozgat. The efficiency measurement has been carried out using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), which represent a nonparametric method. 12 hospitality businesses have been evaluated for efficiency measurement. Efficient and non-efficient businesses have been identified as the result of the analysis. In addition, a number of proposals have been developed for non-efficient hospitality businesses to become efficient.
Turizm sektörü gelişmekte olan ülkelerde ekonomik gelişmenin vekalkınmanın önemli unsurlarından bir tanesi olarak değerlendirilmektedir.Konaklama işletmelerinin turizmin gelişmesi ve sürdürülebilirliği açısındanönemli bir yeri bulunmaktadır. Bundan dolayı gerek bölge turizmi gerekse deülke turizmi açısından önemli bir yeri bulunan bu işletmelerin etkinliğininölçülmesi önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Yozgat’ta faaliyet gösterenkonaklama işletmelerinin etkinliğinin ölçülmesidir. Etkinlik ölçümü parametrikolmayan bir yöntem olan Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) yöntemi kullanılarakgerçekleştirilmiştir. İşletmelerin etkinliğinin ölçülmesi için 12 konaklamaişletmesi değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonucunda etkin olan veetkin olmayan işletmeler belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca etkin olmayan konaklamaişletmelerinin etkin olabilmeleri için bazı öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
