Lymphangiomas are benign malformations of the lymphatic system located in the skin and mucosa. Acquired lymphangiomas may occur as a result of surgery, trauma, malignancy and radiotherapy. The most frequently reported localizations are the inguinal and genital regions, while abdominal localization is rare. Herein, we present a case of a female patient who underwent surgery for ileus and subsequently developed cutaneous unilateral acquired lymphangioma located on the abdominal wall. Acquired lymphangiomas, although rare, may be encountered in the clinic as a postoperative complication in atypical locations. Especially when the lesions are unilateral, they can be confused with many conditions in the differential diagnosis. Our case is important in terms of emphasizing the place of acquired lymphangiomas in the differential diagnosis of postoperative cutaneous lesions.
