Özet
In this work, an analytical formula is proposed for the evaluation of the second virial coefficient based on the Keesom potential. The developed expression provides an accurate and efficient means of determining the second virial coefficient for polar molecules. Consequently, the proposed formula represents a significant advancement in the theoretical modeling of polar molecules, allowing for more reliable and practical calculations using the Keesom potential framework. The performance of the suggested analytical formula is verified through the calculation of the speed of sound for refrigerant gases R41, R124, R125, R143a, R152a, and HCN over the temperature range of 240–400 K and the pressure range of 0.1–10 atm. The calculated results for the second virial coefficient and speed of sound are compared with both experimental and theoretical data, yielding an average relative deviation of about 2.3% (ranging from below 0.1% to a maximum of approximately 22% under low-temperature, high-pressure conditions). The results show good agreement with the available literature, confirming the validity and accuracy of the proposed formulation. As evidenced by the obtained results, the Keesom potential proves to be suitable for temperatures between 240 and 400 K and pressures between 0.1 and 10 atm.
